Newborn sessions are best suited for babies in their very first weeks of life — usually within the first 1–3 weeks after birth, while they are still tiny, sleepy, and full of those precious newness details you’ll want to remember forever.

Who it’s for

These sessions are calm, unhurried, and completely baby-led. I create a safe, cosy space where your newborn can rest while I capture natural moments and little details — curled fingers, tiny toes, and peaceful expressions. Parents, siblings and even pets are always welcome to be included, so you’ll have beautiful memories of these first days together as a family.

FAQs

  • We usually schedule newborn sessions for babies under 3 weeks old — that’s when they’re at their squishy, sleepy best! After 3 weeks, it can be trickier to keep them sleepy and comfortable for poses, but don’t worry. If your baby is a little older, just get in touch and we’ll see what we can do — sometimes it still works out beautifully.

    We recommend booking before your little one arrives so we can pencil in a spot around your due date. Once your baby makes their entrance, give us a call or drop us an email, and we’ll find a time that suits them. No stress if they arrive early or late — we follow their pace and make the session relaxed and enjoyable.

  • It’s a baby-led session and the times we give are just a guideline but not a strict-limited time slot. Sometimes we finish a little earlier, and sometimes it takes a bit longer — for example, a fussy or wide-awake baby who doesn’t want to settle can affect the length of the shoot. It all depends on how your little one is feeling that day.

    Please feel free to bring snacks and drinks for yourself to enjoy while you’re here. And you can stop at any time to change a nappy, breastfeed, or just a cuddle.

  • Try to keep your baby awake for a little while before coming in — around an hour. Once you arrive, you’ll have plenty of time to feed and settle your baby so they drift off to sleep in the studio.

    This helps because if your baby falls asleep in the car on the way, they may be restless or wake up too soon. By letting them settle at the studio, we can capture those cozy, sleepy poses.

    Expect the session to be relaxed and unhurried. There will be lots of snuggles, feeding breaks, and gentle soothing — photographing your baby is just part of the experience!
